Our Services

Imagimotion offers a wide range of services to meet all of your audio production needs. We have a full service production facility with state of the art equipment to give you that "big label" sound. Whether you need someone to mix what you've already recorded or you just need to get that final polish that only mastering can provide, we have a plan that will work for you. We can even provide an engineer or producer to record you live or in our studio facility. Whatever your needs, we'll work with you to ensure you get the best service possible that will make your music rise above the rest.

Mixing

With the explosion of digital audio software and the price of computers making it possible for everyone to own one, more and more musicians are setting up project studios to record themselves. The digital revolution has made it possible for artists to literally record an entire album in the comfort of their own home. However, as good as these tools have become, musicians are discovering that the home computer solution comes at a price - the sacrifice of sound quality.

If your mixes are suffering from sounding flat or thin, we can help.  We have years of experience mixing all kinds of projects.  We give you the best of both analog and digital gear so you get the best sound possible.  Check out our equipment to see our extensive list of outboard gear.

We offer extremely competitve rates so you can get that "radio ready" commercial sound without breaking the bank.  Here's what you get when you work with us:

  • Free phone consultation to discuss the details of your mix.
  • Professional mix of your tracks using the best of our analog and digital gear.
  • An mp3 burn of your mix for final evaluation.
  • One set of mix changes based upon your assessment of the mix. You tell us how you want it to sound, and we'll fix it.  After that, any further requests will be charged at $30 per hour.
  • Once you have approved the mix, we will burn the final CD and mail it to you via USPS Priority Mail.
  • Mastering of the song included in the price.

Mastering

To get the professional sound you hear on the radio, you must master your material. The mastering process ensures that your songs are as loud as they can possibly be without distorting, while still sounding musical and retaining the essence of the song. Mastering also ensures that your song is balanced and does not have problems with certain sounds being too dominant over others in the frequency spectrum.

If your songs sound dull, lack clarity or punch and have trouble competing with other commercial recordings in your CD carousel, we can help.  We'll make sure your song gets the best possible treatment so that it really stands out in the crowd.

Here's what you get when you master with us:

  • Transfer of your mixed song to our 24-bit mastering workstation.
  • Spectral analysis and EQ adjustments using our state of the art gear.
  • Multi-band compression as needed to resolve dynamics and frequency issues.
  • Stereo field enhancement and optimization.
  • Level maximization using a combination of outboard gear and mastering plugins.
  • Ditherless output of your mastered song to 44.1 Khz/16-bit CD standard audio.
  • A reference master conforming to Red Book standard specifications.

Drum Replacement

The foundation of any song lies in the strength of the rhythm section, in particular the drums and how they sound.  Unfortunately, this also happens to be the one area that suffers the most when recording on a budget, especially if you don't have access to the best equipment and locations for recording.  Until recently this usually delivered the kiss of death and meant the final mix would be unable to compete with professionally recorded material because of poor sound quality indicative of amateur recordings.

Thankfully, your songs don't have to suffer from poorly recorded drums any longer.  Don't re-record.  Just replace!  That's right.  We can replace the sound of your drums with samples from professionally recorded drum kits captured in some of the best studios in the country.  We can selectively replace individual instruments, such as the snare or kick, or completely replace every sound in the entire kit!  Using state of the art software that accurately detects the transients of each drum hit, including the varying amplitude levels for those hits, we can translate your performance into a pristine recording complete with room ambience and mic bleed as if you recorded in a professional studio.  As a result, all of the nuance and dynamics of the original performance are preserved.  The only difference is that the replaced version will be punchier, more present and much better sounding overall than the original.  All you have to do is provide us with the individually recorded drum tracks, and we'll take care of the rest.

In the event you do not have enough individual drum tracks to properly perform sample replacement or the sound quality of the source recording is too diffuse to provide accurate hit detection for portions of the drum kit, then it may be necessary to have the drum part re-recorded by a professional drummer.  We provide this service as well and can take your original drum tracks and reproduce the performance in a studio setting.  The end result is a professionally recorded drum take without the hassle of finding a studio, booking the time, hiring a drummer and engineer and getting the tracks recorded for your final mix.  We take care of it all for you!

Here's what you get:

  • Individual tracks of the replaced drum parts.
  • A 2-track mix of the entire drum kit.
  • All tracks provided in 24 bit, 44.1 Khz wav files.

Rates
$20 for each replaced drum or cymbal
$100 for the entire drum kit to be replaced
$150 for re-recording your drum tracks
